CONCEPT
WHAT?
Slow Heritage is a 'niche' booking and experience platform for the conscious traveler looking for tranquility, nature and ancient stories surrounding special historical places.
We manage and promote only carefully selected heritage and outdoor accommodations with a special value and/or story to the place (holiday homes, rooms, slow cabins, group accommodations, design vans, etc.), where peace, authenticity and serenity are central.
At our heritage and nature locations, we also host sensory immersive experiences, carefully selecting artists and concepts for their genre, character, quality, and connection to the space. Each set is shaped around the location itself — creating a unique atmosphere for an intimate evening.
Since 2026, Slow Heritage has also been supporting micro-escapes with design vans across a curated selection of heritage and nature estates. In this context, Slow Heritage assists its operational partner Elsewhere in selecting the right locations.
Slow Heritage aims to develop into a European premium quality label for private and public partners who endorse Slow Heritage's triple S mission .
WHY?
SLOW HERITAGE has a triple S-mission:
- 'Save Heritage': our partners protect endangered heritage sites and natural areas from destruction and give them a new 'experience' future.
- 'Slow Experiences' : we help guests experience and slow down in serene and unexpected dream places where natural stillness arises by itself. From a minimalist bed in a tower room, an intimate atmospheric piano concerto in the middle of a nature domain, to alternative outdoor accommodations on historic estates.
- 'Sensing Stories' : together with our partners we love the past and the old stories 'from the past', we bring them back to life and actively pass them on to our current and future generations.
All our partners opt for a sustainable management model in which quality, hospitality, well-being and heritage/nature management come together in an integrated manner.

Slow Heritage
Manifesto 2.0
Slow Heritage aims to develop into a European quality label and therefore only selects public or private partners and heritage domains that actively contribute to the following '10 commandments'.
1. Protecting heritage & nature
Our places 'touch' guests through their natural beauty, their special environment, social or historical value. They are unique, rare and valuable. We want to protect these places and pass them on to future generations.
2. Experience heritage & nature
Our accommodations are not viewing boxes. You can really stay there. Under ancient vaults or wooden beams. With a view of forgotten castle gardens or typical landscapes. Without strings, signs or prohibitions.
3. Cherish silence & serenity
We bring guests to special places, away from the crowds that in themselves make you quiet and amazed. In a serene environment to get as close as possible to yourself and each other.
4. Value authenticity
Authenticity is not a style choice but a basic attitude. We only look for the place and the story in its purest and most authentic form.
5. Reminiscing & Serenity
We are passionate about the stories behind the place, the builder, its residents or surroundings. About the history, meaning and changes of places over time. We look for special meaningful stories that stick.
6. Delaying experiences
Our heritage domains invite you to slow down - not by doing less, but by experiencing more intensely. A slow clock, a calling blackbird, music or art that makes the place more magical. Our places are often ideal bases for slow activities such as cycling, walking, etc.
7. Emotional minimalism
We try to keep the authenticity of the place but do not like overlead or overdecoration. Only natural materials, subdued colours, and objects that are right. Minimalism with a soul.
8. Respect for nature and environment
Respect is an important value for us. We actively work on nature experience, conservation and enhancement. We support initiatives of surrounding villagers, volunteers who help shape the authentic story. We are part of the whole.
9. Senses as a guide
Bells, limestone walls, creaking doors: a Slow Heritage experience lives through atmosphere that you can taste, smell, feel and/or hear. We stimulate senses naturally, not in an overwhelming way.
10. Unforgettable memory
A Slow Heritage stay is not necessarily an Instagram moment. It teaches you to perceive differently, and to feel the place. With attention and respect. To take with you and never forget. Forever.
